Designed by Graham Cooke & Associates and opened in 1992, the award-winning Platinum rated golf course is superbly manicured and maintained. Playable for golfers at all levels, the course is designed in a resort style with a dynamic set of tees to meet the needs of any guest or member. With 13 lakes, views of the Beaufort Mountain range & Comox glacier, and verdant fairways, this Par 72, 18-hole course offers a superb driving range with chipping & putting greens, and practice bunkers. Aside from the 18-hole golf course, it also has an 18-hole par 3 facility on site.

CI has hosted the PGA Tour of Canada final Q School event on a number of occasions. With 90 rooms of accommodation (and more in the planning phase), numerous F&B options, full-sized practice facility, proximity to outdoors activities like fishing and skiing - the property has endless possibilities to continue to grow its reputation of being a year-round world-class resort.
Assistant Superintendent Duties

You will:
• Communicate professionally with the Golf Shop staff with regards to delays, closures, and maintenance projects
• Maintain the Irrigation system including repairing broken pipes/wiring/sprinklers as well as relocating or adding to existing system
• Daily schedule and adjust the Irrigation System using Toro SitePro Program
• Recognize and diagnose early stages of disease of turf through your daily checks of the course
• Contribute to course maintenance where and when needed to ensure daily objectives are completed

Candidate Profile
Formal education in Turfgrass Management OR a minimum of 5 years’ experience in golf course maintenance
• Extra consideration for applicants who have certificates in Irrigation, Fertility, Pesticide, or Spraying fields
Desired Qualifications & Skills
• Must be self-motivated, organized, dedicated, detail-oriented and focused on contributing to a positive and safe work environment
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with irrigation systems, water management, IPM, drainage, and construction projects
• Strong Knowledge of fertilizer and plant protection product applications
• Proficient in all equipment and tools needed for daily grounds maintenance
• Knowledge of both Rainbird and Toro sprinkler heads for adjustment and repairs
• Ability to work both as a team and individually
• Strong work ethic and a commitment to achieving excellence
Compensation
-
$60,000 -$70,000 determined by experience. As well as a comprehensive benefits package.
