Scott Kolb • Partner
Scott grew up at a Golf Club. In his golf career, he has worked in about every aspect of the golf business. His career began at Victoria Golf Club as a teenager working in the Clubhouse and Backshop, where he joined the PGA of Canada in 1992. In 1998 he ventured to the Okanagan and worked at GolfBC's Gallagher's Canyon Managing the Golf Shop and Inventory and creating a Golf Academy. In 2003, GolfBC transferred Scott to Arbutus Ridge as their Manager of Operations. There he created the GBC Academy now used at 7 different GolfBC facilities with more than 20 different instructors. In 2006, he went back to his roots and became the Head Professional of Intrawest's Raven at Lora Bay and opened the course and clubhouse on July 1, 2006. Later that year, Scott came full circle and was introduced as General Manager of the prestigious and private, Victoria Golf Club.
For more than 25 years, Scott has been responsible for overseeing all departments of the Golf Operations, hosted and executed National and Provincial Tournaments including the very successful, 600+ participant, Vegas Baby Invitational. Victoria Golf Club has recently been voted as "Facility of the Year" from the PGA of BC. With Scott as Golf Shop Manager, the facility was recognized as "Merchandiser of the Year" by the PGA of Canada and has won numerous website accolades including "Bob Weeks Favorite Course of the Year in 2009."
Winston Michell • Partner
Winston has always had a passion for golf and has successfully applied that passion into a well-rounded career. Growing up as an avid golfer, Winston made a career change to the Golf Profession in his early 20's. His career began with several years working for GolfBC's Arbutus Ridge serving in capacities of Back Shop Manager, Sales and Event Coordinator and Golf Shop Manager. Winston moved on to Manage Arrowsmith Golf Club, when an opportunity arose to work for Intrawest Hospitality Management opening their Canadian flagship Raven Brand golf course in Ontario. As Head Professional of the Raven at Lora Bay, he and his team had a successful opening year, and hosted the Telus World Skins Game the following year. Next, Winston became the Head Professional at one of Ontario’s premier private clubs, The Georgian Bay Club, where they hosted the Ford Wayne Gretzky Celebrity Classic. Cottonwood Golf Course brought him home to Vancouver Island in 2009 to become their Head Professional and Assistant General Manager.
Personally he was recognized as the "Assistant Golf Professional of the Year" by the PGA of BC. Winston has extensive tournament experience having hosted National and Provincial RCGA events, worked in collaboration with IMG for the 2007 Telus Skins Game and hosted the 2008 Nationwide "Gretzky's Ford Celebrity Pro-Am." Winston has also had the privilege of hosting promotional events featuring Tom Lehmen and Sergio Garcia and has developed the skill for orchestrating top class tours and events.
Samantha Tough • Sales & Marketing
Samantha has always maintained a passion for the golf industry. At Gallagher’s Canyon she was an essential part of the Golf Operations team, filling numerous roles and achieving the highest retail sales for the property in multiple years. She continued to work at the GolfBC property throughout University where she obtained her Business Degree with a major in Financial Service. She joined the Intrawest opening team of the Raven at Lora Bay in Ontario. At the end of the season, she secured a position with the Raven’s partner and premier hotel in the heart of the Blue Mountain Village, The Westin Trillium House. As the Homeowner Relations Manager, she managed the financial relationship between the hotel operator and its individual investors, Board members and partners.
Moving back to British Columbia, she became the Food and Beverage Manager for Cottonwood Golf Course. Samantha has always enjoyed running golf events, tournaments and weddings, which now she does in her spare time while raising a young family.
